A Spring Hill police officer was arrested and charged after allegedly raping and sexually assaulting two women during traffic stops.

Christopher Patrick Odom, 26, was charged Monday with one count of rape, one count of sexual battery and two counts of official misconduct.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, during the traffic stop in June, Odom initiated sexual contact with the female driver.

Investigators also learned that he allegedly did the same thing to another female driver during a traffic stop in July.

The Maury County Grand Jury returned indictments on Odom Monday. He was booked into the Maury County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

Odom was fired as a result of the investigation's findings. He had been employed with the city since December 2013.

The Spring Hill Police Department released a statement saying:

The actions of Officer Odom are not indicative of a Spring Hill Police Officer and is in direct violation of departmental policies. The department takes great pride in serving our community and preserving the trust of our citizens.
