NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — An investigation got underway overnight after fire broke out at a vacant house in North Nashville.
Nashville firefighters were called to a house off of Whites Creek Pike on Gardner Lane around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Crews said the house was fully engulfed when they arrived to the scene.
A neighbor said she was painting her toes when she heard what sounded like someone stepping on sticks.
Then her dog started barking and she heard a fire truck in the distance. When she looked outside, she saw it pulling up to the house next door.
Because it appears no one lived there, investigators said they're treating the fire as suspicious but cautioned it could be a number of things.
