LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WTVF) — A woman was killed in a Lawrenceburg apartment fire earlier this week.
Fire crews responded to Pine Bluff Apartments on Tuesday around 5:20 pm. They saw heavy flames coming from the ground level of the eight-unit building.
The building's residents had evacuated. The fire began in the apartment of Sherrill Dee Brown, 56, who escaped with severe burns. She was taken to the Vanderbilt Burn Center in Nashville but did not survive.
Due to the extent of Brown's injuries, TBI investigated the fire. They determined it was accidental but have not released the exact cause.
