At least one person was killed in a crash on Interstate 40 East at the 24/40 split near Fesslers Lane.
The two-vehicle crash closed the Eastbound lanes of the interstate around 2:38 p.m.
According to Metro Nashville Police, the driver of an SUV in the crash died at the scene.
An investigation was being conducted to determine whether a medical event may have played a role in the crash.
Drivers were being diverted off the interstate. It was expected to reopen around 6 p.m.
