The family of a Krispy Kreme delivery truck driver killed in a robbery called for justice in his death while police continued to search for the suspect.

“I loved him dearly, and he surely did love me,” Faye Baker, wife of 61-year-old Al Baker, said.

Al Baker was out on deliveries on Sunday morning when an unidentified man who had just robbed the Mapco on Donelson Pike walked out the front door and shot Al for an unknown reason.

“He stole my husband’s life,” Faye said. “I want justice to be done.”

Faye said every person Al met instantly became a friend.

Al delivered doughnuts for Krispy Kreme for 31 years and his family said he loved his job.

“I need everybody’s support to bring this man (the suspect) to justice for what he did to my husband, for stealing my husband’s life for no reason at all,” Faye said.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers.
