NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A recovery effort is underway after a missing boater was found at Normandy Lake in Coffee County.
The drowning report was made Thursday afternoon.
TWRA officials say a 61-year-old man jumped off the back of a ski boat and swam out, but didn't return to the boat.
Attempts by others who jumped in to rescue the man were unsuccessful.
Members of the Coffee County Rescue Squad and Sheriff's Department assisted TWRA in the search for the man.
A remote operated vehicle found the man's body about 9 p.m. Thursday night.
This raises the mid-state drowning total to seven in July alone.
