Firefighters battled an intense fire at a business in southern Simpson County.
Simpson County Emergency Management officials said the fire began burning at Dixie Discount around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
The flames took multiple hours to put out, and officials confirmed no one was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Officials with the Franklin Police Department had asked drivers to avoid 31-W near the Tennessee/Kentucky state line while crews worked at the scene.
