A number of classic cars were destroyed in an explosion and fire that rocked a Springfield neighborhood Thursday night.
The fire broke out inside of a camper at Leon Fulbright's home just after 10p.m. It quickly spread to the attached garage consuming his classic collection of antique cars.
"There’s a lot of time right down there that's gone. But it was enjoyable time," the 71-year-old said looking at his destroyed garage.
Leon, his son and neighbors worked quickly before firefighters arrived to try and save their home as the flames crept closer. A number of propane tanks exploded in the blaze making the volatile situation even more dangerous.
"It was hectic around here. I met neighbors last night I didn’t even know were down here," he added.
No one was hurt during the fire. A cause was still unknown.
