A 24-year-old who was free on bond has been taken back into custody following an investigation into a string of home burglaries.
Authorities confirmed 24-year-old Redeer N. Ramazan, who had been free on a $60,000 bond in regard to a home burglary indictment, was placed back in jail after being arrested Wednesday.
His arrest was in relation to a continuing investigation into home burglaries in the October Woods area of South Nashville.
Ramazan has been charged with aggravated burglary, vehicle theft, assaulting a police officer, evading arrest, resisting arrest, and drug possession.
While investigating the burglaries in October Woods, which happened between July 3 and September 5, authorities said they were searching for a black Toyota Camry that had been stolen from a home in Nashville on June 30.
A witness reported seeing the Camry during a home burglary on July 17 on Catspaw Drive.
The car was seen once again in connection to a home burglary on August 10 on Steamdale Point East in Antioch.
Around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, an officer spotted the Camry as it turned onto October Woods Drive from Old Hickory Boulevard.
Reports stated the car pulled into the driveway of a home on Hurley Court. Officials said the officer approached the Camry, and that’s when Ramazan jumped out and ran away.
Authorities said they chased Ramazan through the neighborhood and across Old Hickory Boulevard. Ramazan allegedly shoved an officer when he caught up with him.
The officer fell, suffering a fractured ankle. Ramazan was taken into custody by other authorities.
Officials said they recovered an assault-type rifle, a pistol, bags of jewelry, and multiple jewelry boxes from inside the Camry.
One of the victims from a burglary on September 5 went to the scene and identified several pieces of jewelry.
Ramazan has been charged in that case as a result of the victim identifying the items. He has remained under investigation in the other October Woods home burglary cases.
Ramazan was being held on a $80,000 bond.
