Police have identified the victim who was fatally shot in North Nashville.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday at a residence on Saint Lewis Street.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 24-year-old Robert Richardson, who had recently moved to Nashville, drove to the residence to pick up his co-worker, 33-year-old Chad Miller.

According to investigators, Miller got into an argument with one of the suspects before telling Richardson to go back to the car while he locked up.

At some point, shots were fired and Richardson was struck in the upper left side.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.

Police said the suspects fled in a silver sedan. It's unclear what led up to the altercation.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74 Crime.
