Fire officials confirmed one person was killed in a house fire overnight.
The fire happened just after midnight, early Sunday morning, at a home in the 4800 block of Old Bethesda-Duplex Road in the unincorporated community of College Grove in Williamson County.
The fire woke nearby neighbors who called 911.
Authorities said an adult male victim’s body was recovered from the home. His identity was not released.
Officials said the owner of the home was a neighbor. The owner reported letting the victim live there to help him get back on his feet.
Reports stated the home did not have working smoke detectors. The fire was not considered suspicious; however, it was under investigation.
The home was not a loss. It sustained heat and smoke damage, but the fire was contained to two rooms. The cause remained unknown.
